After having at least one album lost to a major label shakeup (EMI shuttering its Back Porch imprint), Shannon McNally makes a very, very welcome return with the self-released album Coldwater. It is available from CDBaby, and Shannon's cover of "Lonesome, On'ry and Mean" finally gets recorded for the project.
Also, Shannon will be opening for Dave Alvin & The Guilty Women as they swing through Texas next week. Alas, with two Dave shows at the Mucky Duck, she won't be appearing for the Houston show (dammit!). But hopefully a new album means further touring in the near future.
